nowarwithoutwarriors asked: Hey, I'm currently writing an essay on civil disobedience for my ethics class. I'm a sophomore at Augustana College. Anyway, this is a question for Chris #2. I'm currently at the point in my essay in which I explain why I support civil disobedience. I'm talking about how I got into politics through punk rock. I feel like I'm more likely to get an answer from this than by e-mailing the Anti-Flag site. But I just want to ask #2: Why do you feel that civil disobedience is important? Thanks so much!

the short answer, civil disobedience often brings attention or sheds light on issues that otherwise may have never been spoken of… throughout history you can relate great strides in the progress of humanity to single acts of courage, often they’re linked to civil disobedience…

thanks
